Ramogi Institute of Advanced Technology (RIAT) was founded in 1968. It is one of Kenya’s pioneer Technical Training Institutes offering diploma courses in Automotive Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering,  Social Work & Community Development, Catering and Housekeeping, Clothing & textiles among other courses. Many of these are geared toward self-employment.

RIAT is one of the oldest technology institutes in Kenya and is located at Riat Hills about 12 Kilometers from the heart of Kisumu City along Kisumu - Kakamega road.  The institute aims at producing responsible intellectuals as agents of change, through training with a difference by using applied research, quality production, and above all innovations which are the core values of the institute.

Ramogi Institute of Advanced Technology (RIAT) is a public institution under the Ministry of Education, State Department of Vocational and Technical Training

The Institute invites qualified applicants for the following positions:


 (a) Requirements

  1. A minimum KCSE - Mean grade of C- (minus) and above
  2. A minimum Diploma in General Agriculture/Crop Science /Horticulture
  3. Minimum five (5) years working experience in a similar area
  4. Minimum thirty (30) years and above

 (b) Duties and responsibilities

  1. Managing the entire farming activities of RIAT KIBOS FARM
  2. Working closely with the HOD Agriculture in initiating and running the production units of the farm
  3. Supervising the casual workers in the farm
  4. Planning and budgeting for farm activities in consultations with the HOD - Agriculture 
  5. Supervising and monitoring of harvest and post-harvest activities
  6. Advising the management on best farm practices
  7. Preparing, maintaining, and submitting quarterly reports viii. Any other duties assigned


(a) Requirements

  1. A minimum period of ten (10) years’ relevant work experience;
  2. Minimum thirty (30) years of age
  3. A minimum KCSE mean Grade D (plain) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  4. Valid driving license free from any current endorsements(s) for Class BCE 
  5. Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
  6. Valid PSV license 
  7. Willingness to work beyond official working hours and during weekends

 Added advantage:

  1. A Certificate of Suitability test for drivers from the Ministry of Roads and Public Works
  2. A Defensive Driving Certificate from Automobile Association of Kenya
  3. Proven knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics 
  4. A First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. Johns Ambulance or any other recognized institution

  (b) Duties and responsibilities

  1.  Maintaining cleanliness of the assigned vehicle
  2.  Keeping up to date work tickets for vehicles
  3.  Submitting regular reports on motor vehicle assigned
  4.  Reporting any mechanical/accident problems
  5. Maintaining proper mechanical working condition of the vehicle 
  6. Ensuring safety of vehicle on and off the road
  7. Monitoring and reporting expiry of insurance policies for motor vehicles Ensuring safety of passenger and/or good therein x.    Any other duties assigned 


(a) Requirements

  1. Minimum KCSE mean grade D (plain)
  2. Certificate in Information Studies, or Archives and Record Management from a recognized institution 
  3. Demonstrate competence in Microsoft Office suite and proven competency in Excel application
  4. Knowledge in filing
  5. Minimum age of thirty (30) years 
  6. Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)

(b) Duties and responsibility

  1. Compiling of statistical records to support documents and information retrieval
  2. Receiving , sorting filing and dispatching letters for the registry for the registry
  3. Preparation and maintenance of trainees records in both hard and soft copies
  4. Ensuring safe custody of documents, records and equipment
  5. Any other duties assigned


a) Qualification and Experience

  1. Holder of a Diploma in Human Resource Management or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
  2. Served as a Human Resource Officer for a minimum period of five (5) years in a comparable institution or in the Public Service.
  3. Must be a registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
  4. Have proficiency in computer application.
  5. Meet the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.


b) Duties and responsibilities

  1. Preparing and maintaining human resource management records.
  2. Supervising of employees.
  3. Preparing reports/cases for presentation to the Institute Human Resource and Training Committee.
  4. Advising management on HR matters in the institution in line with relevant policies
  5. Planning and arranging for induction of new employees
  6. Ensuring health and safety of employees
  7. Taking care of employees welfare
  8. Assisting in counseling employees.
  9. Any other duty assigned

(a) Qualification and Experience 

  1. Diploma in Computer Studies or Information Communication Technology from a recognized institution
  2. Served as a Technician in a comparable position in the Public Service or Private Sector for a minimum period of two (2) years
  3. Minimum of thirty (30) years of age iv. Knowledge of current windows and mobile operating systems.
  4. Knowledge of core desktop and cloud business applications.
  5. Good oral, electronic and written communication skills. Ability to document processes, procedures and results. viii. Shown merit, integrity and ability as reflected in work performance and results
  6. Meet the requirements of chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2020.

(b) Duties and responsibilities

  1. Installing and maintaining technical equipment used in training services and office work.
  2. Offering technical support in ICT workshops. iii. Determining equipment specifications for ICT laboratories.
  3. Diagnosing and solving hardware and software faults.
  4. Maintaining and monitoring existing systems.
  5. Installing and configuring IT hardware and software.
  6. Keeping an inventory of computer equipment in the computer laboratory.
  7. Working closely with ICT HOD to grow the Technology Infrastructure of the Institute
  8. Any other duties assigned
